What Wondrous Love

What wondrous love is this oh my soul, oh my soul
What wondrous love is this oh my soul
What wondrous loves is this that caused the LORD of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul………

Did you ever wonder why GOD bothered to make man since he knew man would sin in the Garden of Eden? Since God could foresee the future, then he obviously knew Eve was going to be deceived by Satan. Why did he even bother to make the tree of knowledge and test us? He made man for his glory. Not so they could sin.

Well it is simpler than you may think.  GOD is love! When we love, our love is focused toward something. We don’t just love air. We are really mimicking what God himself does and really how he made us to be. God said; Let us make man in our image. Why did he want us? Because he need an object for his affection. He wanted to love, and made us! But something went wrong. Sin separated us from that love. But God chose the WOMAN to bring salvation into the world. Genesis 3:15 says, “and I will put enmity between you (satan) and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He (Christ-the offspring) will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
This verse reveals 3 important truths. Satan is the enemy of the human race, and that is why GOD put enmity or make enemies between the snake and the woman. And that the woman’s baby (Mary and the Christ Child) would deliver the deathblow to satan making a way for us to be reconciled to GOD, but in so doing, Christ will be bruised and killed in order for this to be done.  Because of God’s love he was able to forgive Eve and even use her to defeat satan’s plan to destroy us!  This is the greatest demonstration of love ever shown in the history of human kind. And is it a no wonder now that GOD IS LOVE! And my sisters, HE used WOMAN to help demonstrate that love! With love that wondrous, how can we NOT FEEL BEAUTIFUL!!!

Rest for the Weary

Recipe for feely goodness: J
1 favorite blankey or quilt
1 pot of tea (I recommend something relaxing- chamomile, peppermint or my fav, spearmint. Whatever is your liking)
1-2 favorite aroma candles lit
10 minutes or more of relaxation, meditation, or prayer.

Sometimes when life gets tough, it is important that we as women take time to de-stress, and find ourselves again. The best way to find sanity is by taking your worries and troubles to the heavenly father who knows all things and as the bible states, “can give grace in times of need.”
Jesus asks us to take his yoke upon us for his yoke is easy and his burden is light.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
So take some deep cleansing breaths. Put on the hot water kettle and light the candles. Put in your favorite CD or find your i-pod/mp3 and download my music selections and anything else you’d like, and shut out that shouting world and pray for God’s rejuvenating grace to cleanse and sustain you. Grace be unto you my sister!

FAIRY STORIES

Blog #1

Little girls know about Cinderella, about her breathtaking beauty, about Prince Charming, about a magical destiny called “happily ever after.” And inside every woman is a little girl who secretly aches for a fairy godmother to wave a wand and transform her into the beautiful princess she has always longed to be. To make her beautiful. Captivating, Adored
But we’ve learned that fairy tales aren’t real, and so we squelch our precious gifts of longing and desire. We stop dressing up or anticipating the ball, deciding it’s better to stay home than to hope again and be disappointed. Besides, being asked to dance isn’t all that important anyway. OH BUT IT IS!    (exert taken from Do You Think I’m Beautiful by Angela Thomas)
When we were little girls, we were read those fairy tales by our mothers and longed to be that princess. As we grew older, we started seeing the media’s take on beauty and eventually forgot our childhood dreams and fairy stories and started to adopt and believe what the magazines ads and television said about beauty. Their goal is to sell a product and therefore will do anything to convince the woman that they need it to achieve true beauty. But does it really work? They will eventually throw that product away and try to sell the newest latest thing, leaving the woman penniless and unsatisfied. The media knows that shopping is our weakness. Have you ever noticed how many television commercials are focused toward women only? Yet we ever strive but cannot attain that beauty we long for.  Maybe its because we're looking in the wrong place all along.
Proverbs 31:10 says…….Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. In the Webster’s Thesaurus, the word virtuous means, goodness, uprightness, righteousness, noble, just, honorable, honest, high-princepled, upstanding, respectable, uncorrupt, good, pure, decent, and the list goes on. Well obviously that’s a tall order also. It seems that either standard, worldly or Christian, is unattainable. But unlike the world, God has made a way thru his son to be virtuous. As we except Christ to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, we become that beautiful woman. Women after God’s own heart and THAT my sisters is worth far above rubies!
